Fans of the many programs airing across two Sinclair Broadcast Group digital multicast channels who have not enjoyed access to either channel now have a free-to-air way to get the offerings — if they live in the markets where expansion is being seen, effective today.
CHARGE!, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s action and adventure multicast network, is now a digital multicast offering on the following six Sinclair-owned stations:
- KATU-2 in Portland, Ore.
- KUTV-2 in Salt Lake City
- WTLV-TV in Jacksonville, Fla.
- WJAR-10 in Providence
- WJAC-6 in Johnstown, Pa.
Also adding Charge! is Gray Television-owned KOLD-13 in Tucson, operated by TEGNA through a joint services agreement.
Meanwhile, Comet, Sinclair Broadcast Group’s science fiction multicast network, is being added to the following stations:
- KUTV-2 in Salt Lake City
- KSNV-13 in Las Vegas
- WTLV-TV in Jacksonville
- WANT-TV in Memphis
- WBIR-TV in Knoxville
- KREM-TV in Spokane
- KMSB-TV in Tucson
- WZDX-TV in Huntsville, Ala.
- KCEN-TV in Waco, Tex.
- KECI-TV in Missoula, Mont.
- WTOV-TV in Wheeling, W. Va.
- KTVM-TV in Butte, Mont.
The new broadcast homes for Comet and Charge! come after the classic series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” joined Comet’s prime-time lineup in June, airing weeknights from 7pm-9pm Eastern as back-to-back episodes. This precedes three back-to-back episodes of “The X-Files.”
On Charge!, “CSI: NY” joined Charge!’s prime-time lineup in June, airing weeknights from 6pm-9pm Eastern as three back-to-back episode, paired with episodes of “CSI: Miami” from 9pm-1am Eastern.
