On July 12, the FCC opened a docket to best address a matter that could impact — for better or for worse, in some cases — full-signal stations.
LPFMs, along with others across the U.S., are getting some assistance with their technical rules. MB Docket No. 19-193 would amend Parts 73 and 74 by “improving” LPFM radio service technical rules, the FCC believes.
Now, the LPFM Coalition, fueled by FM translator foes Common Frequency and Prometheus Radio Project, is lashing out at the FCC for threatening to remove the individual right to complain about interference on the FM band.
It’s in response to MB Docket No. 18-119 — a 15-month-old docket pertaining to FM translator interference.
RBR+TVBR incorrectly reported on July 16 that it was filed in regard to MB Docket No. 19-193, which the Commission just opened and is focused on LPFM technical rules.
