Trio sold near the Ohio capital

0

SoldA two-AM one-FM set of Ohio radio stations is being sold. They are all in the Columbus OH area, but only two are considered to be part of the market.

Perhaps the ultimate oddity of this trio is that there is no primary contour overlap between any of the stations.

The stations are WDLR-AM Delaware OH, WQTT-AM Marysville OH and WVXG-FM Mount Gilead OH.

The seller is ICS Holdings Inc., headed by Mark Litton.

The buyer is Delmar Communications Inc., headed by Mark Casagrande, who is the President, Secretary and Treasurer.

The price: $250,000 cash. The buyer will also reimburse seller for any capital expenditures made after 1/15/15 with the buyer’s permission; the parties are both aware as to just what these purchases might be.

* WDLR-AM is a Class D on 1550 kHz with 500 W-D, 29 W-N, DA2.
* WQTT-AM is a Class B on 1270 kHz with 500 W-U, DA2
* WVXG-FM is a Class A on 95.1 MHz with 6 kW @ 328’

In addition to having no mutual overlap, none of the stations actually reach the Columbus city limits with a primary contour. WDLR-AM is to the north of town. WVXG-AM is not only north of Columbus, it’s also north of WDLR-AM with no contour overlap, and broadcasts in a non-metro county. WQTT-AM serves an area northwest of Columbus, and a bit more than half of its primary contour is out-of-market.
