Another station giving up NCE status for commercial world

WRLB-FM Rainelle WV has been carrying the religious programming of Faith Communications Network, but that will likely change once a deal selling it into a cluster with three other West Virginia stations makes it to the finish line.

The buyer is Radio Greenbrier LLC, headed by Michael J. Kidd and Todd P. Robinson. Stewart Farley signed off on the deal for the seller.

The price will be $255,400 — $15K will go into escrow, an undetermined amount will be applied to refinancing a bank loan, $125K will be paid to settle debt to Rhema Christian Center, and whatever remaining balance is left will be paid in cash at closing.

The buyer has stations in West Virginia and western Virginia, at least three of which are in the same general area as WRLB, which is to the northeast of Beckley WV, one of Arbitron’s tiniest ratings outposts. Also in the vicinity are WRON-AM Ronceverte WV, WRON-FM Lewisburg WV and WSLW-AM White Sulphur Springs WV. The buyer said a full accounting of local contour overlap would be supplied as an amendment to the application.
An LMA for the station was scheduled to being 11/1/11.
