KRKO-AM towers standing again

KRKO replaced two of the four towers needed to broadcast the nighttime signal 8/16 and 8/17.  The 349 foot and 199 foot towers were destroyed by vandals on 9/4/09.  The 349’ tower was capped 8/17 at 8:30 a.m.  Photos are Courtesy KRKO-AM.  Antenna testing will begin in October.  NorthStar Broadcast Contractors installed the replacement towers.  Magnum tower built the replacement towers. Also, KIRO-TV reported yesterday that “…investigators say it’s possible that [the vandalism] wasn’t eco-terrorism…It could have been an upset neighbor.”
