Stephanie Abrams: |
Stephanie Abrams is the host of two nationally syndicated radio travel talk shows: “Travel with Stephanie Abrams!” Sundays from 6-9 PM ET to 6 million radio listeners coast-to-coast via Business TalkRadio Network; and “Travelers411,” which reaches a national audience of 3 million. Travelers411 is also carried by CBS Radio’s online Talk SuperStation, “ChatAboutIt.” Both programs are also streamed on the internet and podcasted.
Stephanie does these shows from the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts where she lives. Of course, Abrams takes the shows on the road globally for remote broadcasts as well.
She’s recognized as an expert in the travel industry and has been named to “Travel Agent Magazine’s” list of the “100 Most Powerful Women in Travel.” Abrams is also the recipient of the Travel Weekly Magazine Achievement Awards for Best PR Campaign, Best Marketing Promotion and Best Radio Advertising.
Her website, www.SAbrams.com, has won the Best Website Award from the League of American Communications Professional for five consecutive years, most recently taking the Bronze Spotlight Achievement Award for 2009. Abrams came to broadcasting after more than 20 years as an EVP of a global travel company. Here, we’re going to ask her a bit about how travel is done with radio:
What makes your shows unique – how do you make an audio program about travel so compelling for listeners?
How often do you do your shows remotely? How do you pick guests and topics?
What’s the revenue model for the shows with sponsors – not your typical :30 or :60 ads, right?
How and when did the shows get started?
Tell us about your website (it has 20,000+ pages), www.SAbrams.com – how does it help you, your affiliates and your advertisers grow revenue?
