Not much of a rest, mind you, but the financial crisis took a back seat to Obama’s trip abroad for the G20 Summit and other events. It edged economic woes in the Project for Excellence in Journalism chart by a 21% to 19% margin.
Big doings in the automotive bailout also claimed attention, and with a 13% share, that story became the first third place topic to get into double digits that we can remember for quite some time.
Shootings, floods, foreign affairs, politics and even a little March Madness competed for space on the chart on the low single-digit side.
