What do Maya Angelou, Candy Crowley and Miley Cyrus have in common? They’re all among the winners of the 2009 winners of the 34th Annual Gracie Awards from American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT). The Gracies each year recognize exemplary programming created for women, by women and about women in all facets of media and entertainment, as well as individuals who have made contributions to the industry. The awards program also encourages the realistic and multifaceted portrayal of women in entertainment, commercials, news, features and other programs. National award winners will be presented at a black-tie Gala in the Broadway Ballroom of the New York Marriott Marquis on Wednesday, June 3, 2009
