Chris Brooks has new stripes as The CW network.

That’s because he’s just been promoted from SVP/Network Distribution to EVP/Network Distribution, continuing to report to network president Mark Pedowitz.

Brooks is responsible for all network distribution, and also oversees affiliate relations and affiliate marketing activities at The CW. Brooks serves as the network’s primary liaison with its station groups and MVPDs.

Pedowitz said of Brooks, “Chris is always looking for new ways to grow and enhance The CW’s distribution platforms. He has been instrumental in securing long-term distribution for The CW, and he has strengthened the network’s relationships with our partners at the broadcast station groups, MSOs, and with our affiliates. Chris’s promotion is well-deserved, and I’m delighted he’ll continue as a key part of The CW’s leadership team.”

Brooks joined The CW in 2014 for his most current role. Under his guidance, The CW has reached new long-term affiliation agreements with the majority of its major broadcast station groups, signed new long-term VOD deals with nearly every major MVPD in the country, and partnered with Litton Entertainment on a Saturday morning programming block, dubbed“One Magnificent Morning.”

Before joining The CW, Brooks was SVP/West Coast for CBS Domestic Television, a position he held since 2004.

Brooks spent nearly 17 years with CBS, first joining the company in 1997 as an account executive in the Southwest region.
