Fusion Communications, Independent News Network and two broadcast television facilities are all part of an acquisition package that will be going to TV service-provider Stratus Media Holdings LLC. The stations are in Waterloo IA and Cheyenne WY.

KWWF-TV is the Waterloo station, an indy on Channel 22 serving the Cedar Rapids-Waterloo-Iowa City-Dubuque DMA. The Cheyenne station is Channel 40 KDEV-LP.

Stratus Media Holdings President and CEO Marc Jaromin commented, “Stratus is local television operations reinvented. Our cost saving ‘One Source’ capabilities provide ala cart or comprehensive centralized station operations in Master Control, Traffic, News, Creative Services and Digital Media. In today’s difficult expense environment, we are excited to announce our ability to provide local broadcast operators immediate HD signal capabilities with zero capital investment and significant operational savings.”

Terms of the deal were not revealed.

Describing its core business, the company noted, “Stratus Media presently provides HD and SD central-casting and ingest services for 20 stations in 16 markets. Stratus Media also provides over 100 hours of local news content and weather services to local ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, Hispanic and Independent broadcasters every week.”
