Sports TalkGenesis Communications and Sports Talk Florida say the The Power Hour, a weekly blend of pop culture, sports, and everything in between, is now airing Monday nights from 6-7 p.m. on 1040 The Team in Tampa and 1080 The Team in Orlando.

The show features a lively mixture of athletes, pop culture personalities, and Insiders from SportsTalkFlorida.com, all uniting to smash stereotypes and bring a new twist to sports radio. Matt Sardo, SportsTalkFlorida.com Digital Director, hosts the vibrant and off-the-wall show.

“The Power Hour is a true experiment between the radio and digital worlds. We’ll get athletes talking about Star Wars and the pop culture universe will be breaking down the 4-3 defense. It will be jam-packed with guests and definitely entertaining,” Sardo said.

Having owned a comic book store in the heart of sports-crazed Chicago, Sardo saw first-hand how the pop culture and sports worlds could coexist. Naturally, creating a unique show that brings this concept to life is only fitting. Blending his love of the sequential art form and strong passion for sports, Sardo brings a whole new meaning to the term “sports nerd.”

Amanda Borges, co-host, is the Assistant Digital Editor of SportsTalkFlorida.com. A college football junkie and a health and fitness freak, she wants to bring to life an exciting platform that’s refreshing for listeners. As an alumna of Florida State University, she started her sports journalism career covering the Seminoles. By combining her passion for hard-hitting sports and her love for unique entertainment, Borges brings a sassy and lighthearted element to the show.
