Should A Mexican Citizen Take Full Ownership Of El Paso Trio?

0

In November 2016, the company then-known as Univision Communications agreed to sell its three stations in El Paso, Texas to an entity that serves as a U.S.-based extension of a Mexican media giant. The $2 million deal put the trio of broadcast properties serving Hispanics in the city bordering Juarez in the hands of a licensee 25% owned by Grupo Radio Centro. Subsequently, it divested its stake, along with its partners, in the stations some 18 months ago.

Now, a petition for declaratory ruling has been submitted by noted Washington, D.C., communications attorney Francisco Montero seeking FCC regulatory approval for 100% ownership of the licensee by a Mexican citizen.
