Estrella Sells Houston AM To Hispanic Religious Broadcaster

A Houston, Texas AM is changing hands from Classic Hits to a Spanish-language broadcast ministry.


Estrella Media is selling KEYH-AM to Hector Guevara, President of the Radio Vida Vision Network and pastor of Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna.The station experienced a broadcasting hiatus from December 31, 2020, until December 27, 2021, after its main transmitter site was sold.

It has since been operating under a Special Temporary Authority from the Federal Communications Commission, broadcasting at 100 watts using a temporary long-wire antenna located in North Houston.

Before the silence, KEYH featured a Regional Mexican format interspersed with Spanish-language sports programming.

The final purchase price was $100,000, with a $10,000 deposit. Hector Guevara assumes 90% voting control as a Director, with Jose Guevara and Francisco Marroquin splitting the remaining votes.

There is no broker or finder associated with this transaction. Estrella is represented by Kathleen Kirby of Wiley Rein LLP. Guevara is represented by The Law Office of Dan J. Alpert.
