WYBN TV-14LATV Networks, a national Hispanic television network, has begun airing in the Albany / Schenectady / Troy, NY DMA. This takes LATV to 46 markets, representing over 10 million US Hispanic households.

The Albany affiliation is via a multicast channel placement with WYBN TV 14, a LPTV owned by Cable Ad Net New York Inc., a Red Hook NY-based producer & seller of cable advertising across the US.

WYBN reaches over-the-air viewers [households without cable] in the Albany-Troy-Schenectady market, as well as an area stretching from Saugerties to Cobleskill. It also is carried on Mid-Hudson Cable. The signal also reaches into western Massachusetts and Southwest Vermont.

Dan Viles, WYBN’s GM, stated that this second Hispanic station is key to TV – 14’s strategy to cover both ends of the Hispanic demo, with Mexicanal: “LATV is current, unpredictable, and fun to watch! We looked at all Hispanic options & we feel this is the best fit for our area. The fact LATV is bilingual is also important.

We look forward to a strong & productive relationship with LATV.”

LATV is the only remaining Latino-owned TV network in the Hispanic television space. Its programming primarily targets US-born Latinos, with content that features a combination of originally produced shows as well as licensed content that has never before been seen in the U.S.

LATV’s fully-owned subsidiary, American Latino Syndication, produces and distributes “American Latino” and “LatiNation,” two award-winning, Latino-themed TV programs that are broadcast on general market stations in over 100 cities nationwide as well as the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
