Why Public Interest Groups Fight Exemptions

FCCdoorAssuming the federal government is re-opened by Thursday and the FCC commissioners and their staffs have had enough time to catch-up on their planned votes, the commissioners plan to approve expanding the agency’s online public file requirements to broadcast and satellite radio, cable and DBS.

Lobbying continues ahead of the vote on whether and how to exempt small stations from the requirements. An exemption is not in the item to be voted on currently, according to sources.
