MicrophoneAdvertisers will want to know about the latest podcast metrics.

Typical podcast listeners are affluent, with 15% earning more than $150,000 a year.

That’s according to statistics newly-released from Edison Research and Triton Digital.

There’s an even 13-13 percentage split between podcast listeners who earn between $100,000 and $150,000 a year and those who earn $100,000 to $75,000 annually.

The median earning point is $65,000 annually compared to $53,000 for the general population.

Podcast consumers are highly educated, as 22% have a four-year degree and 29% have some post-grad school experience or degrees, according to the findings.

Some 55% of podcast listeners also used on-demand video in the past week: Netflix (47%, Amazon Prime Instant Video (17%) and Hulu (11%).
