Which Candidates Are Airing Most Radio Ads?

Democrat and RepublicanHillary Clinton’s campaign is buying the most radio ads so far in the 2016 campaign. Media Monitors data shows 482 Clinton spots ran in Des Moines and the Quad Cities of Iowa/Illinois between Jan. 1, 2016 and Jan. 1 2015. Her campaign ran no spots in Omaha.


For reference, the Quad Cities, in order of descending population, are: Davenport, Iowa, Moline, Ill., Rock Island, Ill., Bettendorf, Iowa and East Moline, Ill.

The Ted Cruz campaign comes in second with 218 spots total in the three areas. His Super Pac ran 26 ads.

Donald Trump’s campaign comes in third with 187 radio ads total in the three markets; Bernie Sanders didn’t buy Omaha, but ran 123 spots total in Des Moines and the Quad Cities.

Marco Rubio’s Super PAC purchased a total of 74 spots in Des Moines and the Quad Cities while Mike Huckabee’s Super PAC aired 50 in all three markets.
