What You Need to Know to Apply for the Auction
The FCC has released 27 pages worth of instructions for television owners to fill out their forward spectrum auction application.
FCC Form 175 covers how an applicant can assert eligibility for a bidding credit, select the license area(s) on which it wishes to bid (including for reserved spectrum), disclose auction-related agreements, and provide information regarding its ownership structure.
“You must be prepared to provide, among other things, basic information about the applicant’s legal classification, contact information, and authorized bidders; indicate whether the applicant is seeking a designated entity bidding credit; select one or more license areas on which the applicant wishes to bid; disclose information about the applicant’s ownership structure; and make certain certifications, states the FCC in the notice.
Applications to take part in the forward auction must be submitted and confirmed before 6 p.m. on Feb. 9.
