Univision Radio won’t have any issues regarding the continued receipt of ratings data for its AM and FM stations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Parent company Univision Communications announced Thursday that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Nielsen Audio covering all 64 owned and operated stations in 16 markets. The agreement also covers Univision’s national radio network.

The new pact allows Univision radio station to continue using Nielsen Portable People Meter (PPM) and diary data in all markets.

“Radio reaches 98% of all Hispanics each month and, as [a] leading Hispanic voice in the U.S., it’s critical for us to have the most effective audience measurement service available,” said Jesus Lara, General Manager of Digital, Content and Entertainment for Radio at Univision Communications. “We welcome Nielsen’s efforts to enhance the audio measurement service and we look forward to our continued relationship.”

Commenting on the new agreement, Nielsen Audio Managing Director Brad Kelly said, “Univision Radio is one of the industry’s leading radio companies and one of Nielsen Audio’s most valued partners. Under this agreement we’ll continue to provide Univision radio with data and services that enable them to make the strategic decisions that will grow their business.”
