Two for Oneida deal

There are two WMCR’s in Oneida NY — WMCR-AM and WMCR-FM, and they’re both headed for Leatherstocking Media Group. According to broker Richard Kozacko, the price will be $950K cash. Leatherstocking is headed by James Vincent Johnson, who controls a third of the company along with Raymond E. Holohan and David Russell. The seller is Vivian Warren’s Warren Broadcasting Company. According to Kozacko, she and her late husband have run the stations going back 40 years. The AC simulcast is nominally part of the Syracuse market, but it is really a local Oneida combo, 25 miles to the east the home of the Orangemen.
