SoldWCAT-FM Carlisle PA went into a trust as a result of the Cumulus/Citadel merger, and now the station, serving portions of the Harrisburg-Lebanon-Carlisle market, is headed for an owner with a pair of AMs in the vicinity.

The entity doing the selling is Potential Broadcasting LLC as Trustee, headed by Media Services Group broker Eddie Esserman.

The entity doing the buying is Harold Z. Swidler’s Radio Carlisle Inc.

The price will be $405K cash.

Harold Swidler owns WIOO-AM Carlisle, and Eric Swidler owns simulcast partner WEEO-AM Shippensburg. They bill their format as Country Gold Radio.

WCAT-FM goes by the name Red 102.3 Country, and it’s a Class A on that frequency with 3 kW @ 328’. That’s good enough to get it into much ofHarrisburgfrom its point of origin to the west ofPennsylvania’s capital city.

That’s much better than its soon-to-be AM sisters can do. WIOO, a 1 kW daytimer on 1000 kHz, is essentially aCarlislestation with a primary contour that does not extend all the way to Harrisburg. Shippensburg’s WEEO is a Class D on 1480 kHz with 460 W-D, 9 W-N, and is located to the west of WIOO, meaning it is even further away from and no threat to reach listeners in Harrisburg.
