TeleFutura, one of the largest Spanish-language networks in the U.S. and the ideal entertainment alternative for Hispanics across the nation, announced today that it has kicked off the 2010/2011 Season as the #2 Spanish-language television network in Spanish-language prime (Mon-Sun 7pm-11pm), beating Telemundo among key demographics including Adults 18-49 (TF 424,000 vs. TEL 376,000; +13% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 260,000 vs. TEL 224,000; +16% Adv).
 
“Coming off a successful 2009/2010 Season and starting off the new season on such a high note, reinforces the momentum our network is experiencing as we prepare to further this success with the launch of the highly anticipated premiere of ‘India’ next Tuesday,” said Bert Medina, senior vice-president and operating manager for TeleFutura.
 
Programming Highlights:
 
TeleFutura’s 10pm series “Rosario Tijeras,” now in its 11th week:
 
·       Generated 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 894,000 Adults 18-49 and 559,000 Adults 18-34.
  
·       Delivered its highest weekly performance levels among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 since premiering on 07/12/10.
 
·       Marked its third consecutive week of audience growth among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
 
·       Continued to out-deliver Telemundo’s “Alguien Te Mira” by triple-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (TF 1.3 million vs. TEL 570,000; +126% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TF 894,000 vs. TEL 298,000; +200% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 559,000 vs. TEL 174,000; +221% Adv.).
 
·       Out-performed every novela telecast on Telemundo in the first week of the 2010/2011 Season among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.


Additionally, “Rosario Tijeras” grew its audience by single to double-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (1.3 million vs. 1.2 million; +7%), Adults 18-49 (894,000 vs. 818,000; +9%) and Adults 18-34 (559,000 vs. 492,000; +14%) versus the previous week (09/13/10-09/19/10).

In the 1st week of the 2010/2011 Season TeleFutura out-performed Telemundo during weekend prime (Sat-Sun 7pm-11pm) making it the 4th consecutive weekend among Total Viewers 2+ (TF 722,000 vs. TEL 460,000; +57% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TF 452,000 vs. TEL 263,000; +72% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 286,000 vs. TEL 155,000; +85% Adv.).
 
TeleFutura’s Saturday (09/25/2010, 7pm-11pm) airing of “Cineplex 3: Muerte al Acecho,” (The Walking Dead) “Fútbol Liga Mexicana” featuring the Pachuca vs. Estudiantes game,  and “Cine de las Estrellas” (All-Star Cinema) featuring “Brujas” (In Bruges) delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (TF 499,000 vs. TEL 364,000; +37% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TF 305,000 vs. TEL 222,000; +37% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 204,000 vs. TEL 133,000; +53% Adv.) than Telemundo’s “Cine de Impacto: Eragon,” “Antesala,” the special edition of “Fútbol Estelar: Tigres vs. Chivas” and “Fútbol Estelar II: Atlas vs. Puebla.”
 
Sunday’s (09/26, 7pm-11pm) primetime programming block on TeleFutura including the special “Famosos en la Controversia” (Celebrities in Controversy), “Cine de las Estrellas” featuring “The Bourne Identity” and “Rompiendo Los Límites” (Whacked Out Sports) beat Telemundo’s line-up which included a special airing of “Alguien Te Mira,” “Cine Nuestro Sun: Picardía Mexicana I” and “Cine Nuestro Sun II: Picardía Mexicana II” among Total Viewers 2+ (TF 945,000 vs. TEL 555,000; +70% Adv.), Adults 18-49 (TF 598,000 vs. TEL 304,000; +97% Adv.) and Adults 18-34 (TF 368,000 vs. TEL 178,000; +107% Adv.).
 
In a head-to-head comparison at 7pm, “Famosos en la Controversia 2010”, out-performed the special airing of Telemundo’s “Alguien Te Mira” by triple-digit margins among all key demographics that included Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34.

Additional Local Market Highlights:
 
Locally, Telemundo aired NBC’s Sunday Night NFL game between the Jets and Dolphins in five markets (Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago and Dallas).  TeleFutura out-performed NFL on Telemundo during the time period among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34 in all five markets.
 
 In Los Angeles, TeleFutura had 3.5 times more Total Viewers 2+ than Telemundo, 3 times more Adults 18-49, 9 times more Adults 18-34 and 8 times more Persons 12-34.
In New York, TeleFutura had 3 times more Total Viewers 2+ than Telemundo, 5 times more Adults 18-49, 5 times more Adults 18-34 and 4 times more Persons 12-34.
In Miami, TeleFutura out-performed Telemundo by 44% among Total Viewers 2+, by 67% among Adults 18-49, by 67% among Adults 18-34 and by 50% among Persons 12-34. 
In Chicago, TeleFutura had 16 times more Total Viewers 2+ than Telemundo, 8 times more Adults 18-49, 10 times more Adults 18-34 and 8 times more Persons 12-34.
In Dallas, TeleFutura had 15 times more Total Viewers 2+ than Telemundo, 8 times more Adults 18-49, 10 times more Adults 18-34 and 8 times more Persons 12-34.
