Holiday shoppers may have taken to eCommerce yesterday to complete much of their gift buying, but investors opted to sell instead.
The Dow Jones Industrials Average was off 54.24, to 19,097.90, while the Nasdaq composite dipped 30.11, to 5,368.81.
Among the key decliners were Amazon, which fell 1.74%, to $766.77 per share; Charter Communications, down 1.7%, to $270.82; and Viacom, off 2.2%, to $41, as the company continues its up-and-down activity seen since early September.
Who enjoyed positive momentum on Monday?
Salem Media Group, which improved 1.7%, to $6.10; iHeartMedia, up 6.4%, to $1.50; Cumulus Media, which gained 4.7%, to $1.34; and Beasley Broadcast Group, which paced media stocks with a 7.1% gain, to $6 a share.
The RBR Radio Index rose 8.884, or 1.40%, to 641.309.
The TVBR Television Index fell 11.572, or 1.22%, to 940.241.
