Univision says the live telecast of the 2007 Copa América soccer tournament on its two broadcast networks, Univision and TeleFutura, reached an audience of nearly 35 million viewers. That was double and triple digit growth over the 2004 tournament in key demos.
Airing on Univision, the July 11th semi-final match between Mexico and Argentina made TV history: It was the #1 soccer telecast of all time on Spanish-language television among Persons 2+ (6,911,000), Adults 18-34 (2,651,000), Adults 18-49 (4,381,000), Men 18-49 (2,647,000) and Households (3,518,000)
