Sinclair-Dish Blackout Ends

Dish NetworkThe Dish Network blackout of Sinclair television stations has ended while their talks continue.


The FCC convened an emergency meeting with the parties at the direction of Chairman Tom Wheeler.

“On behalf of more than 5 million consumers nationwide, I am pleased DISH and Sinclair have agreed to end one of the largest blackouts in history and extend their negotiations,” said Wheeler in a statement.

He vowed the agency would “remain vigilant” while re-trans talks continue.

The blackout affected 129 television stations in 79 markets.
