The San Jose Sharks and Sports 1140 KHTK announced an agreement for the highly-rated Sacramento-based radio station to become an affiliate of the San Jose Sharks Radio Network.  At the same time, the team announced that a total of 12 stations will comprise the network’s station lineup for the 2008-09 National Hockey League season.  The flagship radio station is Clear Channel Radio’s 98.5 KFOX (KUFX-FM), which services San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland.

A 30-game radio schedule will air on Sports 1140 KHTK during the regular season, including several non-televised “radio only” games.  Owned and operated by CBS Radio, Sports 1140 is a 50,000 watt station with an outstanding signal that can be heard throughout the Sacramento region and also in areas such as Walnut Creek and Concord, where many ardent Sharks supporters reside and do business.

Along with their 30 scheduled regular season broadcasts, KHTK is expected to carry a schedule of select Stanley Cup playoff games.  They will also link to the Sharks Radio Network internet feed for all 82 radio broadcasts through its website (www.khtk.com), bringing an added NHL presence to the station all season long.
