The first stage of the FCC spectrum auction closed yesterday, thanks to a building slowdown in bidding activity and a gap between the reverse auction commitment and the forward auction offer.

Dan Hays, a principal with PwC’s strategy and consulting group, says the FCC got what it asked for.

“Today’s auction results are unsurprising, albeit disappointing to some,” he notes.
