Peacock kicks Free Agents out of the nest

Four new comedies have gotten full-season pick-ups, including two on NBC. But not all freshman sitcoms are resonating with viewers, so NBC has canceled “Free Agents” after four ratings-challenged outings.


According to our friends at TV by the Numbers, the Wednesday 8:30 pm slot will be temporarily filled by extra airings of “Whitney,” one of the two successful new sitcoms on NBC.

Free Agents scored a dismal 1.0 18-49 rating on Wednesday, dropping audience from lead-in “Up All Night” at 2.2.
