Video monetization technology and services provider Ooyala has appointed a high-tech business leader with nearly three decades of its experience to serve as its new CEO.

Jonathan Huberman takes the role last held by Ramesh Srinivasan, who departed the Santa Clara, Calif.-based TV tech player in November 2016 and is now President/CEO of Las Vegas-based hospitality industry software solutions firm Agilysys Inc.

Issac Vaughn had served as acting CEO at Ooyala since Srinivasan’s exit. Vaughn previously served for four years as the company’s SVP/Corporate Development.

Huberman previously served as CEO of Syncplicity, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company for enterprise file collaboration.

Before that, Huberman was the CEO of Tiburon, a public safety software provider. His resume also includes a stint as President of EMC’s Consumer and Small Business Division, leading the company’s China growth strategies.

“Mr. Huberman has a standout record of delivering profound growth for cloud-based technologies in complex industries and is a well-suited leader for Ooyala,” said Ooyala Chairman of the Board Stephen Elop. “His dedication to customer satisfaction and keen attention to matching the right solutions to the right challenges in the industry will help drive Ooyala’s next phase of growth.”

Ooyala works with such companies as NBCUniversal in providing video workflow, publishing, analytics and advertising products designed to monetize OTT solutions for broadcast companies seeking more benefit from digital delivery platforms.
