Nielsen Adding Podcast/On-Demand to Ratings

Nielsen1Nielsen plans to add a podcast and on-demand component to its Digital Audio Ratings.

We reported in March the company had that on its radar and Nielsen reinforced that intent at the NAB Show last week.

Nielsen VP Rob Kass said “We want to measure anything that is picked up by your ear.” The company also wants to measure content when the ad models are different, meaning different from the on-air product.

Phase 1 testing will take place across platforms, like PCs, smartphones, tablets and connected devices such as Roku, Sonos and the Amazon Echo.
