NBC earns Friday win and tie for win in key demos

* NBC tied for #1 for the night in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright among those networks in adults 25-54, led by the #1 rated show of the night in 18-49 and 25-54, “Dateline NBC,” and “Grimm,” which tied for #1 among those nets in 18-49 in the 9 p.m. hour.

* At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of  “Who Do You Think You Are?” averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 4.2 million viewers overall.

* At 9 p.m. ET, “Grimm”  (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW and was #1 outright among those networks in adults, men and women 25-54.  “Grimm” built on its lead-in by 63 percent in 18-49 rating. 

* At 10 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) reported the #1 ratings of the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 1849 and 25-54 (pending updates).  “Dateline” is up week to week by 40 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.0), 33 percent in adults 25-54 (2.0 vs. 1.5) and 23 percent in total viewers (5.808 million vs. 4.719 million).  “Dateline” is #1 or tied for #1 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in all key demographics.  Friday’s “Dateline” featured Amy Robach’s report on the story of Bernadette Sugrim, who feared for her life after being told early in her marriage that her husband was a killer.

* “Dateline NBC” generated its highest Friday 18-49 and 25-54 ratings since February 10 and its biggest overall audience for a Friday telecast since December 16. 

* In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, “Dateline NBC” delivered a 38 percent margin of victory in the key news demo of adults 25-54 (with a 2.2 rating vs. a 1.6 for ABC’s second-place “20/20”).  “Dateline” also led the 10:30 half-hour among those networks in all other key demographics and total viewers.
