NBC drama 'Prime Suspect' third-place 10pm Thursday

At 8 p.m. ET, “Community” (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall) is up week to week by 6 percent in 18-49 rating (with a 1.8 vs. a 1.7) and up  3 percent in total viewers (4.045 million vs. 3.928 million).  “Community” matched NBC’s highest non-sports 18-49 rating in the time period since February 3.


Versus its average in last May’s sweep, “Community” last night was up 20 percent in 18-49 rating (1.8 vs. 1.5) and up 19 percent in total viewers (4.045 million vs. 3.385 million), despite intense time-period competition that included Fox’s “The X Factor,” CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” and ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels.”

At 8:30 ET, “Parks and Recreation” (2.1/6 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) matched NBC’s best non-sports 18-49 rating in the time period since December 2, 2010.  In total viewers, this is NBC’s top non-sports result in the half-hour since December 9, 2010.  “Parks and Recreation” is #2 in the half-hour among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-34 and #1 in men 18-34 ahead of “X Factor,” the series premiere of CBS’s “How to Be a Gentleman” and ABC’s “Charlie’s Angels.” 
“Parks and Recreation” built by 17 percent on its 18-49 lead-in from “Community” in a slot where NBC was on average flat last season versus original lead-ins from “Community.”  
 
From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.4/9 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) finished within 1 share of the time-period lead in adults 18-49 and was #1 ahead of Fox’s “X Factor,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS’s “Person of Interest” in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49.

At 9:30 ET, “Whitney” (2.5/6 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) is currently #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW among men 18-34 and tied for #2 among men 18-49 in a highly competitive time period ahead of the concluding half-hours of Fox’s “X Factor,” ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS’s “Person of Interest.”  “Whitney” retained 74 percent of its lead-in from “The Office” in 18-49 and 81 percent in total viewers (pending updates).  In the fourth quarter last year, NBC averaged a 71 percent retention of original “Office” lead-ins in this slot among adults 18-49.   
 
At 10 p.m. ET, “Prime Suspect” averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall.  Versus NBC’s results in this hour on the same night last year, “Prime Suspect” is up 15 percent in 18-49 rating (1.5 vs.1.3) and up 54 percent in total viewers (5.553 million vs. 3.612 million).
