NBC 3rd-place w/ 'Miss Universe'; solid 'America's Got Talent'

From 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “America’s Got Talent” averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall.  “Talent” earned its top 18-49 rating in this hour in five weeks (since August 8) and biggest overall viewership there in four weeks (since August 15), pending updates.
 
From 9-11 p.m. ET, the “2011 Miss Universe Pageant” (1.6/4, 5.2 million viewers overall) delivered NBC’s biggest overall audience in the time period since July 4, the night of the “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.”  


In a competitive time period against ABC’s finale of “Bachelor Pad” and Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Miss Universe” grew from its first half-hour to its fourth by 38 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8 from a 1.3) and by 29 percent or 1.3 million persons in total viewers (5.8 million vs. 4.5 million).
