NBA board names Jim Timm President

NebraskaThe NBA Board is announced the selection of James R. (Jim) Timm as President and Executive Director of the Nebraska Broadcasters Association to become effective 5/1.


“We were delighted with the number of highly qualified candidates who applied,” said Chairman Craig Eckert.  “Jim’s experience, leadership ability, organizational skills and vision for the NBA, makes us very happy that he has agreed to serve our organization.”

Timm has served as General Manager of Connoisseur Media’s KBBX FM, Omaha.  During his 5 years there, he also served on the NBA board and was its Chairman of the Board in 2011-2012.  He currently is its Second Past Chairman.

Jim’s previous broadcast background includes 24 years in sales and management for radio stations in Wisconsin and Oregon.   He re-located to Omaha in 2002 as Director of Sales for Journal Broadcast Group’s radio cluster, and was its Station Manager from 2006-2008. Timm said, “the NBA has a strong, active membership and I am thrilled to be charged with leading us into the future.”

Timm succeeds Marty Riemenschneider who has been President and Executive Director since 2002.  Riemenschneider will remain with the NBA as President Emeritus.
