NAB Beefs Up Lobbying Stable
NAB has hired a lobbyist.
Ray Baum joins the broadcast trade lobby at the end of the month as vice president, Government Relations.
He comes to NAB from the House Commerce Committee, where he was a senior policy advisor and chief strategist on state initiatives, cybersecurity, telecom ad tech.
NAB President/CEO Gordon Smith says Baum’s policy experience at the local, state and national level as a legislator and staffer will benefit broadcasters.
Prior to his Hill experience, Baum was appointed as a commissioner on the Oregon Public Utility Commission in 2003, and later was chair of the Telecom Committee for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.
Originally an attorney in private practice, Baum was elected to the Oregon State Legislature in 1989 and rose to become House Majority Leader in 1995. He remained a member of the legislature until 1997.
He reports to EVP Curtis LeGeyt.
