Stack of FilesRadio owners have more time to prepare to place their public files online.

While a Federal Register notice came out earlier this week stating some elements of the FCC’s order to extend its online public file requirements to radio have become effective, Garvey Schubert Barer tells RBR+TVBR stations that are slated to go first still have several weeks before its effective for them.

As noted in the Federal Register notice, the Office of Management & Budget needs to okay language.

The first stations to make the transition to online public files are stations that 1) are in the top 50 markets and 2) have five or more full-time employees in their station employment unit. Stations not in the first group have until March 1, 2018 to comply.
