Somewhere between an article regarding the smashing success of WE tv’s “Mama June: From Not to Hot” on Friday evening, which makes it the network’s biggest-ever series premiere, and the news that Claudia Foghini was given new EVP/Talent Management and Production Services at Telemundo Networks and Studios was a striking bit of data shared by the daily digital TV programming digest Cynopsis.

The sales memo-turned-newsletter-turned website founded 20 years ago by Cynthia Turner featured in yesterday’s early morning dispatch a look at the “Top Shows on Attention for Broadcast, Cable Live and OTT” for February 2017.

The data could give pause to broadcast TV’s C-Suite, while giving Matthew Polka and the American Cable Association (ACA) some serious ammunition against those who think cord-cutting has already killed the power of cable TV networks.

How the data is gathered is a story in and of itself.
