LPFM Powers Up in Baltimore

TowerA new low-power FM goes on the air in Baltimore on Thursday.


WTTZ-LP is licensed to the Maryland Transit Administration.

The Maryland Transportation Channel on 93.5 MHz, will offer traffic, transit and information for Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

The station will feature news from the MTA, Maryland Aviation Administration, Maryland Transportation Authority, State Highway Administration, Maryland Port Administration and Motor Vehicle Administration news.

WTTZ will be the first new radio station on the air in the city since 1988, reported the Baltimore Sun.

The launch will be simulcast on existing MTA station WMVK.
