The sound of Thunder will now be heard on more than the HD2 signal of a 100,000-watt Country station in Nebraska.

K260BK, a 250-watt translator at 99.9 MHz, has been sold by Community Broadcasting Inc. to Legacy Communications.

The purchase price of the translator is $40,000.

Stephen Lovelady of Fletcher, Heald & Hildreth PLC represented Legacy in this transaction. The firm’s Kathleen Victory represented the seller.

Legacy CEO Alan Usher tells RBR + TVBR that his company will more than likely use the translator to rebroadcast the Classic Rock “Thunder” format presently heard on the HD2 position of KRGI-FM 96.5, which enjoys a 60 dBu signal over Hastings.

“Thunder” is presently available only via HD Radio. When up and running following a move to Grand Island, the 99.9 MHz facility will become the third translator Legacy will operate in the area.

K260CQ, a 250-watt translator at 106.9 MHz on the move from Yuma, Colo., was recently acquired to rebroadcast Legacy’s News/Talk KRGI-AM 1430, a 5kw day/1kw night facility with 1 daytime tower and 3 nighttime towers.

K227BQ, also at 250-watts and at 93.3 MHz, rebroadcasts KRGI’s HD3 format – regional Mexican “La Gran D.”
