KUHA Goes for $10M
The University of Houston System intends to sell KUHA(FM).
The deal includes an FM translator as well, licensed to Beaumont, Texas, which is in the eastern portion of the state, near Louisiana and about 80 miles from Houston.
The buyer is KSBJ Educational Foundation, according to paperwork filed with the FCC.
The total price is $10 million for the Class C FM which transmits 50,000 watts. A $500,000 deposit was to be placed in escrow and the $9,500,000 balance to be paid at closing.
In addition to the station and the translator, KSBJ is also getting the license to a studio transmitter link.
The University of Houston purchased KUHA from Rice University for $9.5 million four years ago.
Greg Guy of Patrick Communications was the broker on the deal.
