KSEQ-FM sale closes in Fresno

KalilKalil & Co. announced the closing on the sale of Rhythmic Top 40 KSEQ-FM (“Q-97”) Fresno, CA from Buckley Broadcasting Corporation to Lotus Communications Corp. Kalil & Co. represented Lotus and Richard A. Foreman Associates represented Buckley in the transaction. KSEQ-FM operates at 97.1 MHz, with 17 kW @ 778 HAAT.


Buckley, headed by Joe Bilotta, also owns stations in Bakersfield, Monterey, and Merced, CA.

Said Bilotta: “Our ability to compete in the highly consolidated Fresno market with a free standing FM was a significant reason to entertain and eventually sell KSEQ to Lotus Communications. With this acquisition, Lotus will be even more of an impact player in the Fresno market and they are very excited to have the Buckley station as part of their growing cluster and company. For over 20 years, we have owned this wonderful facility and want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the many people who have and do contribute to our success.”

Lotus is a California-based company headed by Howard Kalmenson. Lotus also owns radio stations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Tucson, Fresno, Bakersfield, Reno, and Sacramento, along with two television stations in Houston and Phoenix.

Lotus also owns Regional Mexican (La Buena) KLBN-FM, Classic Rock KKBZ-FM, Spanish AC KHIT-FM and ESPN Deportes KGST-AM in Fresno.
