Jobs report boosted stocks on Friday

The government reported Friday that employers added 227,000 jobs in February and the US unemployment rate held steady at a three-year low of 8.3%. However, the market got a downer from an unintended consequence of the Greek debt deal, with a ruling that it triggered default payments under some insurance contracts. At the closing bell the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 14 points, or 0.1%, to 12,922. Broadcasting stocks also gained.


The RBR Radio Index was up 6.759, or 2%, to 347.479.

The TVBR Television Index was up 5.507, or 2.2%, to 259.148.
