Jericho and Big Brother add viewers over more platforms

On-air, online and on-DVR viewing are resulting in many more eyeballs for CBS series Jericho and Big Brother, according to Nielsen Live Plus 7-Day ratings and new data from CBS Interactive Research.


According to Nielsen Live Plus 7-Day ratings, Jericho ‘s second season premiere (Feb. 12) ratings increased by +15% in adults 18-49 (3.0/07 from 2.6/07), +17% in adults 25-54 (3.5/08 from 3.0/07) and by more than one million viewers (8.14m from 7.13m, +14%) compared to its live plus same day ratings.

According to CBS Interactive Research, the second season premiere episode of Jericho was streamed 520,000 times across the CBS Audience Network during its first week (Feb. 12-18) and 700,000 times over a 14-day period (Feb. 12-25).

Jericho’s other online engagement during its second season premiere week included 760,000 streams of episodes from its first season and 130,000 streams of various clips, upping Jericho ‘s first week cumulative streams to 1.41 million.

All three premiere week editions of Big Brother benefited from Live Plus 7 Day DVR lift, according to Nielsen.
Big Brother Tuesday (Feb. 12) increased +8% in adults 18-49 (2.8/06 from 2.6/06), +6% in adults 25-54 (3.4/07 from 3.2/07), +10% in adults 18-34 (2.3/06 from 2.1/05) and added +390,000 viewers (7.47m vs. 7.08m) compared to live plus same day ratings.

Big Brother Wednesday (Feb. 13) rose by +20% in adults 18-49 (2.4/06 from 2.0/05), +17% in adults 25-54 (2.8/07 from 2.4/06), +27% in adults 18-34 (1.9/05 from 1.5/04) and gained +690,000 viewers (6.35m from 5.66m) compared to live plus same day ratings. 

Big Brother Sunday (Feb. 17) increased by +14% in adults 18-49 (2.5/06 from 2.2/05), +15% in adults 25-54 (3.0/07 from 2.6/06), +19% in adults 18-34 (1.9/05 from 1.6/04) and added +480,000 viewers (7.06m from 6.58m) compared to live plus same day ratings.

According to CBS Interactive Research, during its initial week (Feb. 12-18), Big Brother accounted for 1.36 million full-episode streams and an additional 210,000 clip streams for a total of 1.57 million streams across the CBS Audience Network.

Viewers streamed the second week (Feb. 19-25) episodes Big Brother 1.76 million times plus added an additional 170,000 clip streams. During its first two weeks (Feb. 12-25), Big Brother accounted for a total of 3.5 million streams.
