LKCM Radio Group and Aurora Media have entered into an agreement Jelli that makes listeners the program directors at two FM station in the Las Vegas market. Via Jelli, listeners can use internet and mobile applications to vote on the next song on the playlist of a top-40 FM station, and an alternative/modern rock FM station.

The contemporary station is now known as Jelli 96.7 – The New Beat of Las Vegas, on LKCM’s KYLI-FM. The other station is Aurora’s KXLI-FM, now known as Jelli 94.5 – 100% User-Controlled Rock Radio.

Jelli, LKCM and Aurora have entered into a multiyear pact.

“We’re thrilled to launch today in Las Vegas, the place for entertainment innovation,” said Mike Dougherty, Jelli’s CEO. “Radio is inherently social. Starting today on Jelli 96.7 FM and Jelli 94.5 FM, Las Vegas listeners can play along together using the web and their iPhones to create the most engaging and fun radio experiences Las Vegas has ever seen.”

“We are changing Las Vegas radio forever with Jelli’s revolutionary social radio experience,” said Gerry Schlegel, President LKCM Radio Group. “We look forward to creating a tight relationship with the listening community with these Jelli formatted stations.”

The stations are co-located at a site near Mesquite NV, and both cover territory that is northeast of Las Vegas – the primary signals run up just about to the city. They are both licensed for Class C with 93 kW and a 2,090’ HAAT stick.
