House Judiciary Committee music licensing hearings begin

U.S. CongressOn 6/10, the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property held the first of two hearings on music licensing. “Music Licensing Under Title 17 Part One” is a comprehensive review of copyright laws. Those testifying include BMI CEO Michael O’Neill, Nashville Songwriters Association International President Lee Thomas Miller, National Music Publishers Association CEO David Israelite, Jim Griffin, OneHouse Managing Director, Will Hoyt, TV Music Licensing Committee Executive Director and Lee Knife, Digital Media Association Executive Director.
