The issue of whether or not the FCC should relax AM skywave protection and/or eliminate critical hours protection is controversial and has generated lots of interest. More than 500 comments have been filed with the FCC on its latest AM proposals.
While the agency’s initial proposals were non-controversial, the latest ones are and the industry is now facing some hard choices about the future of the AM band.
