Groundbreaking at New NAB HQ Set

NAB / National Association of BroadcastersNAB plans to break ground on its new headquarters June 20.

The broadcast trade lobby announced the planned move last April, to be closer to Capital Hill.

The new site is a mile away from its current building at 1771 N Street Northwest. NAB moved into the current building in 1969 and plans to sell it.

The new building is located at 1 M Street Southeast.

A spokesman confirms to RBR+TVBR construction is slated to last three years with move-in planned for 2018.

District of Columbia Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, NAB President/CEO Gordon Smith and Joint Board Chairman Dave Lougee are expected to be on-hand for the groundbreaking ceremony.
