SoldThe call letters of Houston sports outlet KGOW-AM aptly refer to the owner, David F. Gow. The AM will soon have an FM sister that is also in the sports radio business.

The station is KFNC-FM Mont Belvieu TX, another one of those cut loose for sale due to the M&A activity of Cumulus. KFNC wound up in the hands of W. Lawrence Patrick’s AR Licensing LLC.

Gow Communications LLC is the licensee name of the buyer. It will pay $5.05M cash for the station.

The AM is a Class B licensed to Bellaire TX on 1560 kHz with 46 kW-D, 15 kW-N, DA2. Its signal tightly follows the geographical contours of the city of Houston.

KFNC-FM is a full Class C on 97.5 MHz with 100 kW @ 1,960’. However, its transmitter is sited to the east of Houston. As a result, it does a great job of covering the neighboring Beaumont-Port Arthur Arbitron market, but only throws a primary contour over about half of the Houston urbanized area.

KFNC carries ESPN programming.
