Some 60-70 owners, group heads and group execs met 7/17 in Dallas over Fox affiliates’ concern that Fox wants to shift from a multi-year reverse comp agreement to an annual one. The new affiliation renewal is based on DMA households instead of MVPD households as is the current arrangement. Present was Jeff Rosser, Fox affiliate board chair and execs representing 47 companies owning 168 Fox affiliates. FOX broadcast network execs were not at the meeting.
Just a few days ago, 21st Century Fox announced that Dana Walden and Gary Newman will oversee a new business unit within Fox Networks Group, Fox Television Group, which will combine Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC) and 20th Century Fox Television (TCFTV).
