At last word, it looked like numerous FM and TV transmitters at towers on Mt. Wilson might escape the massive wildfires consuming large sections of Southern California. The LA Times reported that a concerted effort to cut fire breaks and lay down fire retardant could save the historic Mt. Wilson Observatory, along with the broadcast towers serving the Los Angeles market.
